Matt Lucas, D.O.

Dr. Lucas is an Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine specialist. He joined Peak Orthopedics in 2020. He brings unique expertise and experience in minimally invasive and non-operative treatment strategies for painful conditions of the spine and extremities. He has particular clinical and researchinterest in the use of orthobiologics, including cellular therapies (stem cells), for the management of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries and has published several manuscripts on this topic.

Dr. Lucas is actively involved in the Interventional OrthobiologicsFoundation (IOF) where he serves as both a clinical instructor for advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound and functions as the Chairman of the IOF Ethics Committee. He also serves on the board of the Denver Osteopathic Foundation.

Dr. Lucas is a Colorado native and a Colorado State University alum where he received his undergraduate in Sports Medicine and later received his Medical Degree from Rocky Vista University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. He then completed additional Fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine with an emphasis on Regenerative Orthopedics at the Centeno Schultz Clinic in Broomfield, CO.

Outside of work Dr. Lucas is an avid golfer, fly fisher, and enjoys skiing and hiking with his two dogs.
